Automate with Remainders, App Intents, Shortcuts, and Siri
Update
May 10, 2023
Remainders is now even more powerful with the addition of iOS App Intents, allowing you to build integrations with other apps via the iOS Shortcuts app. With App Intents in Remainders, you can automate repetitive tasks and create custom automations to meet your specific needs.
Here are some of the ways you can use App Intents with Remainders and other apps:
Import events from your calendar: You can create a shortcut to quickly import upcoming events from your calendar into Remainders, so you can easily keep track of all your event countdowns in one place.
Automatically create birthday countdowns: You can create a shortcut to automatically create birthday countdowns from your contacts' birthdays.
Integrate with the Reminders app: You can create a shortcut that automatically creates a Reminders list linked back to your event countdown in Remainders.
Add event link backs to your other apps: You can create a shortcut that inserts an app link back to your event in Remainders using our remainders:// app URL and event ID intent. Tapping this link will open the event in Remainders.
Ask Siri to create a new event: Simply ask Siri "create a new event with Remainders" and follow the prompts to automatically create a new event.
Ask Siri to run your Remainders' Shortcuts: Siri can run any Shortcut in your library. You can create a Shortcut to get the remaining time until your event, then simply ask Siri "How long until WWDC?". She'll respond with the remaining time.
With Remainders' App Intents and the Shortcuts app, the possibilities are endless. App Intents allows Remainders to seamlessly integrate with other apps, making it even more versatile and useful.
To get started with iOS App Intents in Remainders, simply update the app to the latest version and open the Shortcuts app. From there, you can create new shortcuts and add actions from Remainders' App Intents.
We are excited to bring you this new feature and can't wait to see what you will create with it. As always, if you have any feedback or suggestions, we'd love to hear from you!
